Aloo dum

Bengali dum aloo


Ingredients

For cooking potatoes

Baby potato  20 pcs
3-3.5 cup water
1/4 tsp salt

For making aloo dum

2 onions finely chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp haldi powder
1 tsp jeera powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tej patta
1 cloves
1 tsp jeera
2tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp hari mirch paste
Dhaniya patti for ganishing
Water as required

Method

Boil potates adding salt,peel the boiled potatoes once cooled

Add jeera to the heated oil
 Then add tej patta and clove
 Then add chopped onions,ginger garlic paste and green chillies paste and saute.
 
 Then add salt and tumeric powder(haldi) to the mixture.
 Once onion change its color and a nice aroma of cooked onion comes add chopped tomatoes.
 When the mixture is cooked and oil seperates from the mixture add the boiled and peeled potatoes to it.
 Mix well.then add red chilli powder,coriander powder to it.
 Then add cumin (jeera),powder
 Then add garam masala powder
 Mix well and let cook for 2 mins.

Then add water as required to the potato curry
 Let it simmer for 5 mins in medium low flame.
 Then add coriander(dhaniya patti)leaves to it and mix well.
 Aloo dum is ready to serve with parathas.
